The Vision Council area is one of the fastest growing regions in Miami-Dade County.  The county Planning Department estimates the region will grow by 43 per cent in the ten year period between 2005 and 2015.   And, many feel that those estimates are conservative.  The City of Homestead alone expects its population will more than double -- from 39,000 to 84,000 -- by 2011.

The rapid growth is fueled by an ongoing residential housing boom.  As other developable areas of the county have reached capacity, Southern Miami-Dade has become one of the last places available for large scale development at reasonable prices.
